Lamination of gypsum panels
The machines that Barberan offer for laminating and postforming panels made of materials like wood, MDF and particleboard can be adapted to work with other types of materials as well. One of the last delivered machines was a machine suitable for gypsum panels which were previously overlayed with paper. These panels are used mainly in the indoor construction and decoration industries. The machine is composed of an infeed zone with shaping heads at both sides, a brush cleaning group and an IR preheating zone to heat the panel surface before it is laminated. The application unit includes a foil unwinding station, a PVAc glue application head with a rubber application roller and a doctor roller, two pressing rollers to laminate the foil onto the panel’s surface and a manual rewinding station for the initial foil surplus. At the outfeed of the application unit, the machine is equipped with an edge postforming zone with rubber molding rollers, which wrap the edges of the panel until the foil is bond underneath. Furthermore, the machine is equipped as well with a rotary cutting knife, which performs the cut between the panels before they leave the machine. The rubber pad chain conveyor, as well as the molding rollers in the postforming zone, adapt to the different panel widths by means of a motorized symmetric opening system.
